9. Women of Enlightenment- Wollstonecraft- women should be an active part of society and can contribute equally

Few women became famous thinkers during the Enlightenment and many were still denied rights because of their gender.  Women were important to the age, especially in organizing SALONS, or informal gatherings where people met to discuss ideas.

 

Going Deeper:

1. City of Ember and the Enlightenment--- how are they connected based on what you are reading and learning???

2. Select a Enlightenment thinker to research further and create a Board Builder on Discovery Techbook about them- you should answer the basic W questions, include a picture, and at least one quote to summarize the information that you have learned about them.

3. Enlightenment Thinkers Quotes Match up of Enlightenment Thinkers

4. Make and design a trading card of an Enlightenment Thinker--- Who are they? where are they from? What did they believe in? Famous phrase that they would use/quote?  What song, book, movie would they promote in today's world? Favorite color? Use a graphic or photo to represent them (can use station notes or draw own picture)

5. Create at least a 6 to 8 panel cartoon strip of the Enlightenment thinkers(at least 2-3 interacting together).  You should have the Enlightenment thinkers interacting/talking with other in the comic strip! In your comic strip, it should reveal the concepts that each individual thinker wanted to emphasize to the world. This must be your work!!! BE CREATIVE!!!!
